Exposing Your Naked Self

Witness an ant crawl across the floor – it moves with a purpose. You move with purpose- every moment is an expression of your purpose. What are you doing? Look at the people outside your window- all moving with a purpose. A stranger walking, with a purpose and a destination. All people- moving towards something. What? Zoom out and witness this human activity. Very much like the ants, all with purpose. Is that purpose invented by the performer? What gave birth to such action? Consider – all activity has some purpose. Even when it seems no purpose is present- there is a purpose.

Consider the significance of an ant, looking for food. Consider the value of your own actions. Indeed they may appear more significant- but why? Human action is no greater than an ant. The only difference is that enlightened humans can recognize their futility and become free from the bonds of human effort. It’s a joke, with serious actors and actresses playing the parts of serious roles- step back and witness the humor of spirit. Not with haughtiness, but with a smile in your heart and love in your soul. If time has taught you anything- life will be but a memory soon. The stage will fall away and your naked self will be revealed to you. Isn’t it fun to see it now?
