A Little Doubt Can Bring the World Together

Posted in Spiritual Guidance | Email This Post Email This Post | by James Rick

Humans are the only species in the world that can observe their state of mind while it is unfolding. This process of meta-cognition can feel like you’re watching an actor / actress play a role. But you aren’t simply watching a movie. The character is not confined to a role or script. YOU have the power to say — CUT ! — REWRITE ! — In short, you control the entire production.

But did you know you had this power? Have you ever exercised it? Or do you believe in your movie 100% – becoming immersed in the plot, the mood, the emotion. Have you become so familiar (read: comfortable) with your character you find ways within the movie to make sense of it. Are you content with not questioning the roles you feel you’ve been given? Are you content with accepting established institutions (governments, religions and economies) you were born into? Do you buy this definition of reality/ civilization?

STEP AWAY FROM YOUR MOVIE

Step away from your movie for a moment. Notice the billions of human dramas playing out on the screens all around you. Each having it’s own starring character. Tap someone on the shoulder and have a conversation with these people out of character. Let go of your stories for a moment. What’s it like to simply be and admit you don’t know why you’re here? How does it feel to let down the walls and sigh – I don’t know 100% and I’m not going to get punished by some invisible source for admitting I don’t know. I don’t have to act. I don’t have to tell others what I believe in like I’m part of a club. I don’t have to play a game. I don’t have to strap bombs to my chest or go to war to prove anything to anyone, or prove my faith to myself. I can admit my uncertainty.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DON’T FULLY KNOW

When you step back from your movie and agree you don’t fully know why you’re there, you can no longer be prejudiced. You can no longer say you belong to this group or that group and assume because of it you’re superior in some way. You have no comparison for superiority. You are forced by equality to team up with everyone in this moment in time and say – we never had the chance to meet the millions of generations that existed before us, we will probably never have the opportunity to meet the millions of generations that will be born after us – but here we are at this moment in time, brought together by circumstances not fully known. We are on a team in this moment in time, all of us. Some of the team left yesterday, yes we don’t know where they went. Some have joined today, we’re not exactly sure where they came from.

WHAT WE TELL TO OUR CHILDREN

Sorry, we have no biases or prejudices to program your young, moldable minds with. All we can do is give you basic tools for learning like language and guide you to self understanding and critical thinking. We’ll share with you what we know up to this point but then you’ve got to figure it out on your own. Why are we so ‘cruel’ to not supply you with answers of certainty that will bring you comfort? Because we learned that comfort is not always the highest form of existence. But we live in a world united, because we don’t know how to judge superiority. Is it money? Title? Color of skin? Belief systems? Diet plans? Gender? We are all in question! We have inherited the Earth through our humbleness. Peace is the product of uncertainty because we don’t know what to attack with certainty. This leaves us with re-entering our movies and doing our best to understand our roles, each other and making a choice to stand together in our uncertainty. Our enlightened characters now silently affirm, a little doubt can bring the world together.
